High-powered Dolphins looking for upset against Chiefs
Across the pond and into Germany, the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs will square off in Week 9. Both teams are 6-2 following a Week 8 win for the Dolphins and a loss for the Chiefs.
Heading into Week 8, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had the flu, and based on his performance, there’s a correlation between that and the illness, as he threw two interceptions and had 241 yards on 38 attempts. The Dolphins, meanwhile, defeated the Patriots at home by 14. Below, we’ll follow up on these injuries and check out this matchup.
Chiefs will face an electric Dolphins offense
This season, the Chiefs have allowed 16.1 points per game (second in the league) and just 114 passing yards from Russell Wilson in their Week 8 loss to the Denver Broncos. This week, though, they’ll face the NFL’s best offense. The Dolphins are scoring 33.9 points per game, and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has thrown for less than 300 yards in four of his eight games this season. He had another three touchdown passes against the Patriots.
Chiefs looking for a healthy Mahomes
As mentioned, Mahomes was ill heading into Week 8. During the game, broadcasters mentioned that it hit the entire Mahomes family. Now, he and the team must travel overseas to Germany and play in a different time zone. The Chiefs will hope for Mahomes to recover from the illness before their international showdown.
