The Super Bowl is fast approaching, and the Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up to take on the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch from Super Bowl 54, which the Chiefs won by a score of 31-20. Since then, the Chiefs have been one of the dominant forces in the NFL, featuring in another four straight AFC championship games and two more Super Bowls, counting this season. Skyy Moore has officially been activated, and that is the most up to state status for the Chiefs Injuries.
As the reigning Super Bowl champions, the ball is in the Chiefs’ court to become the first team to retain the title since the 2003-04 New England Patriots. However, the Chiefs are underdogs against the 49ers. Super Bowl 58 will kick off Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Potential key missing players
Joe Thuney
Thuney has been a stalwart figure in the NFL since 2016, barely missing any time over the last eight years. Since he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, he’s been an All-Pro second-team selection and was a first-team All-Pro for the first time in 2023. He’s one of the soundest blockers in the NFL.
However, Thuney’s Super Bowl is in doubt. The guard missed the AFC championship game against the Baltimore Ravens with a pectoral injury he suffered against the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round, and there’s a real possibility that he won’t suit up against the 49ers.
Jerick McKinnon
McKinnon ended up on injured reserve after the Chiefs’ Week 15 win against the New England Patriots because of a sports hernia/pelvis injury, but he was designated to return from IR on Saturday, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The veteran running back played a big role down the stretch last season as the Chiefs won the Super Bowl, with McKinnon providing a safety net as a pass catcher out of the backfield. McKinnon could still yet ramp up his practice time and get on the field for the Super Bowl, but it’s unclear as of yet.
Skyy Moore
Skyy Moore is officially active as of this afternoon, and Charles Omenihu has been placed on the IR. The Chiefs receivers have struggled this season, and Moore has been a part of those struggles, but he proved to be a difference-maker in last year’s Super Bowl.
