bet365 is thought to be the largest regulated online sportsbook in the world, and that size affords the operator certain advantages that competitors are hard-pressed to match.

You'll find dozens of sports - including eSports - at bet365, and thousands of ways to bet daily thanks to the site's robust in-play betting features. There are also a double-digit number of specialty bets offered for a variety of sports at bet365.

In the end, variety and top-shelf software are what garner bet365 a high score from our reviewers.

Key features of bet365

1. Widespread sports coverage

Whereas most sportsbooks offer bets on mainstream sports exclusively, bet365 ups the ante by providing hands down the most comprehensive coverage of lesser known sporting events.

Everything from Gaelic sports to eSports and darts (yes, darts) is not only covered, but covered extensively, with individual matches and events sometimes offering a range of wagers that numbers in the dozens.

Going further, more often than not bet365 provides betting coverage for multiple markets within each sport. Nowhere is this more prevalent than it is for soccer, where it’s not uncommon to find over 100 markets covered.

If there’s one drawback to this level of comprehensiveness, it’s that recreational players may find themselves overwhelmed, but the betting filters are useful enough that it shouldn’t take too long for less knowledgeable players to become acclimated to the platform.

2. In-play wagering

By now, in-play wagering is a staple of just about any major book, but bet365 has sweetened the pot by adding a slew of features to its live betting experience.

The live betting console offers two main views. The first, Overview, allows punters to view the most common bets categorized by match, whereas Event View is a more detailed view that displays all in-play wagers for a live event, grouped by bet type. It’s not uncommon to find more than 50 in-play bets for high-profile soccer matches, and even basketball and volleyball matches are known to have upwards of 20 in-play bets.

A third view, Multi View, allows players to customize the in-play experience, while Schedule lists all upcoming in-play matches for the upcoming week.

bet365’s in-play service processes a monumental amount of data with relative ease, with updates hitting the platform almost instantaneously. Live streaming of in-play events is also available, however, the platform has yet to implement functionality that allows players to view full screen streams.

3. Multinational

The bet365 sports platform was designed with a global reach in mind. At present, it is available in 18 different languages including most common European and Asian languages. Odds can be displayed as fractional, decimal or American.

Catering to its eastern markets seems to be a priority for the site, as it offers great odds at Asian handicaps. Not to mention, high rollers appear more than welcome, even if they’re placing wagers on less than prominent events.

Getting money on to bet365 is a relatively painless process, regardless of where you’re from, as the site processes payments from over 25 different currencies, and generally offers at least a half-dozen payment options per currencies – sometimes many more.

3. Bet365 Edit Bet

Bet365 has launched a new betting feature for 2017 called Edit Bet. It allows users to remove, swap or add selections to unsettled straight accumulator bets. You can do this before a match or In-Play. You can also swap or add selections to unsettled single bets.

bet365 mobile reviews

bet365’s appropriately titled mobile sports application On the Move is available for iOS, Android and Windows devices. It is free to install and comes in most of the languages available on the main site.

Downloading the app is as simple as navigating to the site’s mobile webpage, scrolling to the bottom and selecting “View All Apps.” From there, you can choose which app (sports, casino, poker, news) you’d like to download. iOS (version 6.0 and later) users can also find the application on the UK app store.

Worth noting is that while residents of the U.S. and other restricted countries will be able to download the application, they will not be able to access any of its functionality.

For the mobile users that can access the app, they will find that it stacks up quite nicely next to its desktop counterpart, especially in the areas of functionality and available betting options. Listed below are a few comparison points.

  • The vast majority of events and markets available on the main site are also found at On the Move, including a vast array of in-play markets.
  • Most sports, including soccer, tennis, basketball and squash can be watched in real-time from a mobile device, in so long as the user has a funded bet365 account or has placed a qualifying bet within the past 24 hours.
  • Horse racing too, can be viewed live, pending a small wager was placed.
  • Aesthetically, the app lacks appeal, but this small drawback is more than made up for by the incredibly organized and easy to navigate interface.
  • Lastly, the app has a fully integrated account manager that allows you to register for the site and make deposit/withdrawal requests (among other functions) from your handheld device.

Cashiering on bet365

Users will be happy to know that bet365 offers a multitude of depositing and withdrawal options. Deposits are devoid of fees while most withdrawals process instantaneously.

Available cashiering methods do vary somewhat from region to region, but in no case will be a user be pigeon-holed into selecting from just one or two options. In almost all cases, users had at least four means of transferring funds on and off the site, and often as many as 12.

Here’s an overview of the depositing/withdrawal methods supported by the book:

  • Credit/debit cards: Visa, Maestro and MasterCard
  • Virtual prepaid cards: entropay appears to be the most common
  • ewallets: Skrill, Neteller, paysafecard and PayPal (select markets only)
  • Bank transfers: 2-10 business days to process
  • Checks: Can take up to 28 business days to process

On a final note, punters will find that for many transaction types, the book is willing to process large withdrawals of five figures or more.

bet365 perks

While bet365’s sportsbook doesn’t offer a traditional VIP club, it does host a well-diversified promotional schedule.

Promotions are commonly gears toward punters who participate in accumulators. As an example, the site may offer an up to 100% bonus on a Euro Soccer league accumulator, with the higher bonus amounts reserved for players who play more folds. Accumulators are also available for tennis and basketball, among other sports.

bet365 also incentivizes bettors to root for longshots – its 4/1 offer rewards a free bet of the same stake (up to 50 GBP) pending the bettor backs a winning horse that goes off at 4/1 or higher. The deal is even sweeter when betting on greyhounds, as players will receive a free bet of up to 100 GBP for backing a winner at only 2/1 or more.

Parlay bonuses are often available on American and Canadian sports, with bet365 doling out upwards of 50 percent extra on more aggressive bets.

Finally, the site will often feature one event for a promotion where it will offer players who place a pre-match bet the chance to freeroll an in-play wager on the same match. Typically how this works is eligible players must place one in-play bet on the qualifying match, and if it loses, they’ll receive a refund of up to their largest pre-match bet. That right there is value at its finest.

As with any promotion, bet365’s are not without their fine print. For one, bonus payouts are typically not to exceed £100,000 and do not apply to combination bets with bonuses (Lucky 15’s, Lucky 31’s etc.) Furthermore, if a parlay or accumulator stake is fully cashed out, then the bonus will not apply.

Player tools at bet365

Responsible gambling

bet365 offers a host of responsible gambling tools, which allow players to monitor their play and/or exclude themselves from sports betting activities, should they feel themselves losing control.

Available options include:

  • Limits: Deposit limits and time alerts (called Reality Checks). In the case of deposit limits, these can be set for 24 hour, 7 day and 30 day periods.
  • Time-out: Enables players to take a break from betting for a period of 24 hours, 48 hours, 7 or 30 days. During this time players will be unable to access their account for betting. They will still be able to login and conduct withdrawals.
  • Self-exclusion: This more drastic step allows players to close their accounts for a period of 6 months up to 5 years.

Account security

As a regulated operation, bet365 is required to comply with a series of identity verification checks. Collectively, these are known as Know Your Customer (KYC).

This relatively quick and painless two-step process enables bet365 to ensure a high degree of account security. Users will be happy to know that multiple verification options are available, and that they can easily access their KYC section by navigating to the Services drop down menu from the Members > My Account > Know Your Customer sub-menu.

As an added security measure, bettors are required to enter their selected four-digit security code whenever any action on their account is taken. This is to make certain that the changes are being made by the account holder.
