If it seems like we are frequently reporting on new sponsorship deals between daily fantasy sports sites and professional basketball teams, it’s because we are.
Last week saw the announcement of yet another such pact, this time between the largest online daily fantasy company operating in the market, FanDuel, and the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers.
As is typical with these partnerships, much of the visibility of the pairing will come in the form of advertisements and other in-arena promotional materials. And, much like DraftKings’ partnership with the Minnesota Timberwolves, there will be a tie-in across social media platforms as well.
Fans can look forward to the #FanDuelfortheWin Sweepstakes, from which one fan will win a special VIP experience at an upcoming Cavaliers game.
They can also expect to see many more such alliances, given that daily fantasy sports is a rapidly growing industry and is the only way that many Americans can legally place wagers on sporting events, fantasy or otherwise.
