Online Florida sports betting via the Hard Rock Bet app is live for the second time in entire Sunshine State
Nearly a month after re-launching Hard Rock Bet to existing customers only, the Seminole Tribe of Florida on Tuesday expanded online Florida sports betting to include everyone eligible.
LSR confirmed from Florida on Tuesday that all users are able to sign up, deposit and bet.
“Got to get the servers warmed up for the massive launch planned Thursday-Monday at Seminole and Hard Rock casinos across Florida,” Hard Rock Bet executive managing director and president Matt Primeaux tweeted to LSR.
Florida sports betting date moves up
The Seminole previously said they were going live to the public on Thursday.
“We’re continuing our rollout of the Hard Rock Bet app in Florida and look forward to the official launch of in-person and mobile sports betting on Thursday,” the tribe said in a statement on Monday.
Hard Rock Bet re-launched on Nov. 7 to existing customers who had placed bets when the app was live for 34 days in 2021.
Seminole Casino to host celebrities
As Primeaux mentioned, six Seminole casinos will open in-person FL sports betting from Dec. 7-11.
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood will be hosting a myriad of celebrities for its introduction of craps, roulette and sports betting on Dec. 7.
The celebrities include the likes of Jon Bon Jovi, Heather Graham, Mike Tyson and Dwyane Wade. Bruno Mars will also be doing a concert at the Hard Rock Live.
Pair of court challenges remain
The Seminole Compact gives the tribe exclusivity in offering sports betting both online and in-person.
It is currently being challenged by West Flagler Associates in the state Supreme Court and potentially the Supreme Court of the United States.
Gov. Ron DeSantis filed his response on Friday to West Flagler’s writ petition, seeking to dismiss the ongoing state Supreme Court case.
Also, Chief Justice John Roberts granted West Flagler’s request for an extension to file a federal Supreme Court petition from Dec. 11, 2023 to Feb. 9, 2024.
