The Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers have both punched their tickets to the World Series. Both the NLCS and ALCS went to seven games, with the Diamondbacks defeating the Philadelphia Phillies and the Rangers defeating the Houston Astros.
Game 1 is set for Friday, Oct. 27, and will air on Fox. Texas has secured home-field advantage, so the series will open at Globe Life Field. Below are the opening lines, totals, and props for Game 1.
Texas’ offense continues to perform
The Rangers averaged 5.5 runs in the American League Championship Series and, most notably, scored a combined 20 runs in their last two games to close out the series. Adolis García has been hot at the plate, hitting two home runs in a crucial Game 7 against the Astros. He collected a record 15 RBIs in a single postseason series.
Diamondbacks’ pitching has stepped up
When it was needed the most, the combination of starters Brandon Pfaadt and Merrill Kelly held the Phillies largely in check over a combined nine innings. Those two games in the National League Championship Series helped secure their spot in the World Series. If more of their rotation steps up, like Zac Gallen, they hold a strong position heading into Texas.
