Legislative Tracker: Daily Fantasy Sports, Sports Betting

The list of states taking a legislative interest in DFS is growing rapidly in 2016.

Some states that currently do not allow fantasy sports are attempting to legalize DFS contests; other states want to regulate it like a form of gambling or clarify the status of DFS under existing gambling law (DFS sites operate openly in most states, but how gambling statutes apply to the activity is a matter of debate).

Likewise, the conversation around legal sports betting has exploded in the last few months and resulted in a slew of legislative proposals.
