FanDuel Sportsbook at Valley Forge Review

Following the successful opening of FanDuel Sportsbook at Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey, FanDuel will work with national partner Boyd Gaming – the parent company of Valley Forge Casino – to bring Pennsylvania another new sportsbook.

Along with its experience in daily fantasy sports and now also its sportsbook operations in New Jersey, FanDuel Sportsbook brings with it the partnership of Paddy Power Betfair, one of the biggest names in bookmaking in Europe.

With all of that experience and advanced technology teaming up with Boyd Gaming – owner of more than 30 casinos across the country – we expect the new sportsbook at Valley Forge to be one of the best in the industry.

When will FanDuel Sportsbook PA Launch?

We expect Fanduel Sportsbook to be live in Pennsylvania in summer 2019.

FanDuel Sportsbook PA Promotion & Details 2019

As the sports betting marketplace grows, the competition to land new customers will continue to increase. That means the consumer can only benefit from each new sportsbook that opens its doors and goes online.

Valley Forge has yet to announce what new player incentives it will offer, though we expect the offerings to be similar to what FanDuel implements in New Jersey: a risk-free first bet that covers losses of up to $500.

If a player loses the initial bet, he or she will be credited back the full bet amount up to $500. All payback bonuses are returned to a player’s account within 72 hours and may be subject to tax withholdings depending on the amount. Once a player wagers those bonus funds again, the money is eligible for withdrawal.

Players can look forward to something of similar value at the new Valley Forge Sportsbook.

Other possible player promotions and bonuses

FanDuel currently offers its players NBA Overtime Heartbreak Insurance, which pays back up to $25 on wagers that end up losing in overtime.

For NFL wagers, gamblers can claim Halftime Insurance, which pays back up to $25 on wagers that were leading at halftime but ultimately lost.

FanDuel also offers insurance for both football and basketball parlays of four or more legs. If all of a player’s parlay legs hit except for one, the bettor receives up to $25 back.

It’s unclear what exactly will be offered by FanDuel and Valley Forge, but promotions similar to those in New Jersey will likely be available.

Signing up for a new account

All new players will get their first opportunity to place bets and sign up at the land-based, 1,800-square-foot sportsbook facility at the Valley Forge Casino in King of Prussia, a city just northwest of Philadelphia.

When the mobile app goes online later in 2019, new members can expect to be able to complete their registration using nothing but the app.

The sportsbook may only require a player’s name, date of birth, physical address, email address, phone number and Social Security number to open an account. Players will also be asked to create a username and password and answer two security questions to secure their account further.

Players will not need to submit any photo ID, a proof of identity that many online sportsbooks and casinos used to require. However, players should make sure the information they give is current and correct as the sportsbook will use it to confirm their identity.

If the sportsbook detects any suspicious activity on the account, it may trigger a security review.

The account holder will then need to present a photo ID and provide proof of address as well as proof of ownership of any credit cards or bank accounts linked to the account. These security reviews are quick, straightforward, rare and the only intent is to keep the player’s identity and account information as secure as possible.

Deposits and withdrawals at FanDuel Sportsbook at Valley Forge

Online bill pay is the most straightforward method to deposit funds to a new FanDuel Sportsbook account. With an online banking ID and password, players can move their funds without submitting a bank account number. This also helps keep a player’s information secure.

Credit cards are also an option, although FanDuel warns its customers that some credit card companies treat deposits to gaming companies as a cash advance, resulting in additional fees. Direct bank transfers and PayPal also work instantly but without the extra charges.

Players can also use one the many PayNearMe locations in Pennsylvania to make a cash deposit. Alternatively, a personal check can be sent directly to Valley Forge.

Withdrawing funds requires the user to reverse the process for PayPal, credit card payments or bank deposits. If the player used another deposit method, Valley Forge would likely send a check in the mail, requiring additional days for processing and delivery.

FanDuel Sportsbook app for Android and iOS

As mentioned, there will be mobile access to the Valley Forge/FanDuel Sportsbook. Considering FanDuel’s experience with mobile apps, users will undoubtedly be thrilled when it finally goes live.

FanDuel’s New Jersey app is almost identical to the sportsbook’s website. It features a homepage with easy-to-use shortcuts, taking the user to the sport of his or her choice, whether it is the NFL, college footballNBA, golf or tennis.

There are also three tabs — “Popular,” “Live” and “Upcoming” — that take players to tables. Whether a player is looking to bet with the masses, find another event happening at the moment or place a wager on an upcoming event, it’s easy to navigate.

Players can also manage their accounts completely through the mobile app, from registration, to making deposits and withdrawals, to placing wagers.

Available bets at FanDuel Sportsbook

FanDuel Sportsbook appeals to both the experienced sports gambler and the first-timer. Its website features a section dedicated to educating novice players on everything they need to know to place an informed bet.

Veteran gamblers can bypass this training and go straight to wagering.

Players can choose from:

  • Straight bets on point spreads and moneylines.
  • Parlays: A bet combining two or more wagers into a single bet.
  • Prop bets: Individual or team outcomes within a selected event.
  • Teasers: A wager that shifts the point spread in one direction or another.
  • Over/unders: Betting on the combined points scored by both teams in a contest regardless of the winner.

FanDuel offers players an extensive list of sports to wager on from darts and cricket to rugby and auto racing.

Live betting

Live betting involves placing wagers on matches that are already under way.

This technology has been available on international sportsbooks for some time and is coming to Pennsylvania via FanDuel Sportsbook.

Lines change as the action unfolds, allowing you to place bets at any time. For many people, this makes watching sports more interactive. You can also use in play betting to lock in profits from existing wagers, or hedge against losses.

Some sports are more live betting friendly with pauses between plays or longer match formats. FanDuel Sportsbook’s in-play betting works perfectly on mobile, allowing you to bet while watching in a bar or even at the game itself.

A possible player rewards program

Both FanDuel and Valley Forge Casino currently offer their own rewards programs.

FanDuel’s Players Club comes with automatic enrollment, gives out bonus wagers based on the number of points earned, and rolls over from year to year as long as there are active plays on the account in the preceding 12 months.

Valley Forge Casino features the Valley Club, a point-based program that awards a free, $25 slot play upon registering for the Valley Club Card.

Perks of this program include discounts on food and drink, special birthday offers, airline mileage boosts and access to room upgrades at the casino and hotel.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board insists that Valley Forge be the predominant business name. We expect Valley Forge to be a part of the name of the new rewards program. However, the player benefits will likely be a combination of the two loyalty programs.

Customer support at FanDuel online sportsbook

Clicking the “Support” link on the lower-right side of FanDuel Sportsbook’s homepage takes you to a screen showing five customer support options. These are available 24/7.

The first is a link to the FAQ section, which gives information on downloading apps, cashing out and viewing your settled bets, etc.

If you prefer to get in touch with a customer service representative, here are the other options:

Live chat: A button brings up a widget in your browser window or on the apps, which puts you in touch with an agent for a text-based chat.

Email: You can email [email protected]. If you already have an account, FanDuel will ask that you include your username.

Telephone: At the moment, a phone number for New Jersey customers is available (877-689-0662). When the FanDuel Pennsylvania site goes live, we will find out whether there is a new phone number, or whether both states will share a support line.

Postal address: This many not be a quick way to get support, though you will find a postal address for Betfair Interactive LLC.
