NFL Week 2 matchups and current odds

Every team is in action during Week 2. Here’s a breakdown of all the games and the best NFL betting lines for each one.

Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, Fox

Jordan Love looked sharp in his first start as he led the Green Bay Packers to a win over the division-rival Chicago Bears. The Packers will hope to have top receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) back from injury for this Week 2 contest.

The Atlanta Falcons rushed for 130 yards in their season-opening win, with rookie Bijan Robinson and second-year back Tyler Allgeier sharing thh workload. The Falcons appear likely to continue to employ a rush-heavy approach behind their formidable offensive line.

Las Vegas Raiders at Buffalo Bills

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS

The Buffalo Bills have won three straight AFC East titles and return most of their core players this season. Josh Allen has keyed one of the most pass-heavy offenses in football during that span, and the Bills added big tailback Damien Harris this offseason to potentially add some balance to their offense.

The Las Vegas Raiders turned the page after a disappointing 2022-23 season with Jimmy Garoppolo taking over at quarterback, and he teamed up with Jakobi Meyers (nine receptions, 81 yards, two TDs) to lead his new squad in a narrow win over the Denver Broncos. Maxx Crosby keys one of the most consistent pass rushes in the league on the defensive side of the ball.

Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS

After missing most of training camp with a calf injury, Joe Burrow was ineffective in Week 1 as the Cincinnati Bengals dropped a third straight road game to the Cleveland Browns. The Bengals have won three of their last four against the Ravens.

The Baltimore Ravens seemed to show some growing pains while adjusting to new offensive coordinator Todd Monken, but they still handled the Texans in a Week 1 win. They lost J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) to a season-ending injury and will hope that Mark Andrews (quad) is ready to return after sitting out Week 1.

Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, Fox

After winning eight of their final 10 games last season, the Detroit Lions took down the defending champion Chiefs, 21-20, on the road to open the season. The Lions have an elite offensive line, and their defensive secondary received a boost this offseason.

The Seattle Seahawks opened the season as home favorites against the rebuilding Rams but struggled to maintain possession and gave up 11 third-down conversions in a blowout loss at home. Geno Smith was one of the more efficient passers in the NFL last year, and he will look to bounce back at Ford Field.

Los Angeles Chargers at Tennessee Titans

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS

The Los Angeles Chargers have lofty expectations once again with a star-studded roster and top-tier quarterback, Justin Herbert, signed to a long-term deal. Their offense was firing on all cylinders in a 36-34 home loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 1.

The Tennessee Titans signed DeAndre Hopkins in an effort to find more balance on offense with workhorse back Derrick Henry aging and their offensive line depleted. Ryan Tannehill struggled in the team’s season-opener at New Orleans.

Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, Fox

The Chicago Bears upgraded their defensive personnel this offseason and traded for wide receiver D.J. Moore. They still struggled to get stops in a Week 1 loss to the Packers, though, and Moore only managed two catches for 25 yards in his team debut. Chicago finished 32nd in passing yards per game (130.5) last season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have turned the page following Tom Brady’s retirement, and Baker Mayfield led the team to an upset win at Minnesota in Week 1. Tampa won the NFC South last year thanks to a strong defense, and that unit appears to be solid again under the guidance of head coach Todd Bowles.

Kansas City Chiefs at Jacksonville Jaguars

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS

The Kansas City Chiefs battled their way to a second Super Bowl in four years last season despite working in a new cast of receivers. Yet without Travis Kelce (knee) and former offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, their offense failed to come through in an opening loss to the Lions.

The Jacksonville Jaguars managed a playoff appearance a season ago. The team has a top receiver now that Calvin Ridley is back from suspension, along with a pair of exciting young running backs in Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby.

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, Fox

Anthony Richardson showed promise in his NFL debut, and the Indianapolis Colts took a late lead against the Jaguars after a defensive touchdown. Richardson took some hard hits down the stretch, but the 6-foot-4 quarterback should be ready to go against Houston.

The Houston Texans are rebuilding with second-overall pick C.J. Stroud under center and a host of young players around him. Demeco Ryans takes over as head coach after the Texans went 3-13-1 last year and finished dead last in run defense.

San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams

Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET, Fox

The San Francisco 49ers won 10 straight games to close the regular season last year and opened this season with an emphatic 30-7 victory at Pittsburgh. Brock Purdy appears to be in full control of this loaded offense, and Nick Bosa is dominating on defense after signing an extension.

The Los Angeles Rams are coming off an injury-plagued season and might be without Cooper Kupp (hamstring) for over a month. Sean McVay brought on 10 new assistant coaches this offseason, and the Rams were excellent defensively in a surprising Week 1 win at Seattle.

New York Giants at Arizona Cardinals

Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET, Fox

The New York Giants won a number of close games and their wild card matchup in the playoffs last season under new head coach Brian Daboll. However, their season debut on Sunday Night was an absolute disaster, as the Cowboys’ defense dominated that divisional matchup.

The Arizona Cardinals appear likely to be in the running to be the worst team in the NFL this season with Kyler Murray (ACL) still going through a rehab process. However, the team gave the Commanders a scare in its opening game and nearly pulled out a win.

New York Jets at Dallas Cowboys

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS

The New York Jets signed Aaron Rodgers this offseason and immediately shifted into the realm of contenders in terms of odds to win the Super Bowl. They open the season at home against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, giving them a short turnaround before traveling to Dallas. The Jets allowed the second-fewest points per game (18.6) last season.

The Dallas Cowboys might have the most talented defense in the NFL this season, with Stephon Gillmore joining their secondary and DT Mazi Smith helping to stop the run while Micah Parsons patrols the edge. Tony Pollard moves into a featured role after the franchise parted ways with veteran Ezekiel Elliott.

Washington Commanders at Denver Broncos

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS

The Washington Commanders are under new ownership this season and have a new starting quarterback in Sam Howell. They also brought in offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy to help diversify a ground-and-pound offense. Chase Young (neck) missed their opener and is doubtful to suit up in Week 2.

The Denver Broncos did not get off to a great start in the Sean Payton era. They committed 10 penalties and averaged a modest 4.5 yards per play in a 17-16 home loss to the Raiders. Jerry Jeudy (hamstring) is questionable to suit up this Sunday after missing Week 1.

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots

Sunday Night Football, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC

The Miami Dolphins proved once again that they have an absolutely elite offense when Tua Tagovailoa is delivering the ball to his speedy wide receivers. Tyreek Hill (11 receptions, 215 yards, two TDs) carried the Dolphins to a win at the Chargers, and he could end up being a tough cover for a disciplined Patriots defense.

The New England Patriots reunited with offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien, and they were able to find some rhythm in their passing game after a rough start against the Eagles in Week 1. The Pats played at a very slow pace last season and depended on their running game to move the ball.

New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers

Monday Night Football, 7:15 p.m. ET, ESPN

Derek Carr passed for 305 yards in his debut for the New Orleans Saints, and receiver Chris Olave (eight receptions, 112 yards) had a big day against the Titans. The Saints opened the season as favorites to win the NFC South and have one of the easiest schedules in football according to expected win totals.

The Carolina Panthers had a tumultuous season last year under fired coach Matt Rhule and interim coach Steve Wilks. Now Frank Reich is working with top overall pick Bryce Young and an injury-plagued group of receivers.

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers

Monday Night Football, 8:15 p.m. ET, ABC

The Cleveland Browns dominated defensively in a season-opening win over the Bengals. New defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz appears to have implemented some adjustments. Deshaun Watson struggled after returning from suspension last season and is still looking to shake off some rust.

The Pittsburgh Steelers came into this season looking to Kenny Pickett, who is entering his second year under center. They fell into a huge hole early against San Francisco’s elite defense last week, however, and will aim for a better showing on Monday night.
