Sports betting is coming to Missouri in December 2025 and along with it will be FanDuel Sportsbook, one of the sports betting industry’s leading sites.

Missouri finally legalized online sports betting in 2024, thanks to the passage of Amendment 2. However, there’s still a bit of a wait, as sportsbooks aren’t expected to go live until December 1, 2025. FanDuel will almost certainly be among the day one Missouri sports betting sites, as it has a history of launching in new states as soon as possible.

FanDuel was a huge proponent of Missouri sports betting from the beginning. The company donated to the “Yes” marketing campaign that pushed for legalization. Neither FanDuel nor its parent company, Flutter, has announced an official Missouri sports betting partnership. The state will offer licenses via its land-based casinos, its six professional sports teams, and two untethered, online-only licenses. No word yet on which one FanDuel will go for, as it has a history of getting licensed via all three methods in other legal states.

In the coming months, we expect FanDuel to release more details about its plans and partnerships in Missouri. For now, it’s safe to assume the sportsbook will launch on or near day one (which is December 1, 2025) in the state with a lucrative welcome bonus and its excellent user experience in tow.

The MGC is required to launch sports betting by December 1, 2025, so prospective operators (and bettors, for that matter) will need to wait a few more months.

As for FanDuel-specific news? Not much has happened in the past weeks. We expect FanDuel to seek a license, though it remains to be seen which avenue FanDuel will take. Will it partner with a Missouri casino, join forces with a sports team, or go for an online-only license?

Despite these unknowns, FanDuel’s track record makes a day-one launch fairly certain. The company is well-known for its early launches in legal states, often going live at midnight or in the very early morning on the go-live date. Moneylines

When you bet the moneyline, you’re simply betting on a team to win. For example, you might see odds like the following.

A minus symbol means that the team is favored to win, while a plus symbol means the team is the underdog. Betting on the underdog will always yield a bigger win (if successful), though it’s less likely to happen.

In the example above, a $100 bet on the Cardinals would win you $125 in profit, plus the original $100 bet back.

Spreads

Point spreads are a common way for sportsbooks to even the odds on mismatched events. Say the KC Chiefs are playing the Chicago Bears. You might see a spread that looks like this.

In this scenario, the Chiefs are expected to beat the Bears by around 9-10 points. As such, they have a spread of -9.5,. If you bet on the Chiefs spread, you then need to subtract 9.5 from their end-game total to see if the bet wins. In other words, the Chiefs need to win by 10 points or more for the bet to hit.

The Bears, meanwhile, can win straight-up or lose by fewer than 9 points to cover the spread.

Totals

A totals bet is also called an over/under. Rather than picking a winner, you bet on whether both teams will score combined points above or below the line set by FanDuel. For example, you might see the following totals bet at FanDuel for an NHL game between the St. Louis Blues and the Colorado Avalanche

In this bet, all that matters is the total number of goals scored. In other words, it doesn’t matter who scores them. If the final score is Blues 4, Avalanche 3, the total is 7 and the “over” hits.

Parlays

In a parlay, you combine various single bets into one larger wager. Each part of the parlay is called a leg, and all the legs must hit for the bet to win. If even one of them loses, the whole bet is a bust.

Same-Game Parlays

A Same-Game Parlay or SGP is a parlay that combines bets from within a single game. This often involves player or game props. FanDUel is widely renowned for its SGP builder.

Player Props

“Prop” is short for “proposition.” A prop bet is a wager on something that isn’t intrinsically tied to the outcome of a game or match. For example, you can bet on a Royals pitcher to throw over or under a certain number of strikes. You can also bet on basketball players to record certain numbers of assists or points.

Many states have specific prohibitions on player prop bets for college sports. Missouri does not have any such stipulations, so you’ll be able to place player prop wagers on the Mizzou Tigers and other NCAA players in the state.
