Ohio sports betting launch info
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine signed HB 29 into law on Dec. 8, 2021. This legalized both online and retail sports betting, including betting on college sports.
There are three licenses that entities can apply for in Ohio:
- Type A: Available for the state’s casinos and professional sports teams to partner with online sportsbooks.
- Type B: Retail sportsbook license.
- Type C: Available for grocery stores, bars, restaurants and sellers of Ohio Lottery tickets that want to offer sports betting kiosks.
FanDuel applied for a Type A license in partnership with Belterra Park in Cincinnati. It has received approval from the Ohio Casino Control Commission and will begin taking bets starting Jan. 1. The people of Ohio will be able to bet on teams like the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Cavaliers and many more.
Tomorrow, the Browns take on the Washington Commanders, and the following day, the Bengals play the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. People in Ohio will be able to bet on both of these games at FanDuel Sportsbook.21+ and present in OH. Gambling Problem? Call 1-800-GAMBLER
