DraftKings Ohio projected launch bonus

In addition to the $200 pre-launch promo, we expect that new users in Ohio will also be eligible to receive DraftKings Sportsbook’s two-part new-user bonus.

This consists of a 20% matching bonus on your first deposit, up to $1,000, and a $50 free bet when your initial deposit is at least $5 when you use the DraftKings promo code link. We project this offer to be available for both Ohio pre-launch users and those who did not sign up for the pre-launch offer.

So, whether you have $200 on the first day of sports betting in Ohio or not, you will qualify for the 20% deposit matching bonus and the $50 free bet (if you deposit $5). However, in both instances, you need to sign up using the DraftKings Ohio promo code link.

Ohio sports betting background

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine signed sports betting into law on Dec. 8, 2021. House Bill 29 legalized online and retail sports betting, including betting on college sports.

Hollywood Casino, located in Toledo, Ohio, has applied for a Type A sports betting license and will partner with DraftKings for online betting. Type A licenses are available for the state’s casinos and professional sports teams. These establishments are allowed one online sportsbook partner, with a possibility of a second.

Type B licenses are retail sportsbook licenses. No county can have more than five retail sportsbooks, and counties home to fewer than 50,000 people cannot have any.

Type C licenses are available for grocery stores, bars, restaurants and any sellers of Ohio Lottery tickets that have a Class D liquor license. These licenses are geared toward sports betting kiosks.

Ohio will have a 10% tax rate on sportsbook revenue.
