DraftKings launches in Kansas
The state formally legalized sports betting on July 1, 2022. With a launch date of Sept. 1, this is the fastest turnaround time between legalization and launch of any US state so far. The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission approved draft regulations for sports betting on Aug. 12.
The Kansas sports betting bill, SB 84, allows the four commercial casinos in Kansas to operate sports betting by way of retail sportsbooks in addition to up to three partnerships with online sportsbooks.
