NFL Rookie Of The Year Opening Odds: Futures For OROY & DROY

NFL Rookie of the Year odds are now available at top online sportsbooks. The lines will continue to take shape in the wake of the NFL Draft, but clear favorites have emerged on both sides of the ball.

Caleb Williams, the first overall selection by the Chicago Bears, is the favorite on offense. On defense, Dallas Turner tops the charts after the Minnesota Vikings picked him in the opening round. Let’s take a closer look.

Options for betting on the NFL include odds for this season’s award winners. As the preseason gets underway and the regular season plays out, the board will likely look a lot different. Here’s where things currently stand, with the latest odds via FanDuel Sportsbook.

NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year favorites

Heading into the NFL Draft, Williams was the overwhelming favorite to be the first overall selection. That came to fruition, and he’s now the franchise QB for the Bears. The club is third in the latest NFL division odds to win the NFC North.

Later in the first round, the club added to its arsenal by snagging Odunze, a wide receiver out of Washington. He slots into a receiving corps that includes DJ Moore and Keenan Allen, whom Chicago acquired via an offseason trade with the Chargers.

Second on ROY odds boards is Harrison Jr., a highly regarded wideout out of Ohio State. He joins an Arizona Cardinals team that has nowhere to go but up. In the latest Super Bowl odds, Arizona is toward the back of the pack.

McCarthy and Nabers are jockeying for third in early lines. The former was the 10th pick in round one by the Vikings, while Nabers went sixth to the Giants. McCarthy’s weapons will include Justin Jefferson, while Nabers could be the WR1 in New York.

A little further down the board, Daniels, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, joins the Commanders, a team that has been on a lengthy search for a franchise QB. Right behind him is Worthy, a wideout whom the defending champion Chiefs traded up for.

NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year favorites

Offense ruled the day in the opening round of the draft. The first 14 picks were on that side of the ball. Latu broke the streak when he went 15 to the Colts. Murphy was the next defender picked at 16th by the Seahawks, followed by Turner at 17th to the Vikings.

In early odds, Turner holds the lead over Latu as the favorite on defense. In his final season at Alabama, Turner racked up 53 total tackles and 10 sacks. He also turned heads at the NFL draft combine, clocking a time of 4.46 seconds in the 40-yard dash.

Latu missed some time early in his college career with a neck injury before transferring to UCLA. Over the past two seasons with the Bruins, he generated 23.5 sacks and 34 tackles for loss. He joins a Colts team that ranked 24th in total yards allowed a season ago.

Verse was the fourth defender selected, going 19th to the Rams. Los Angeles suffered a blow over the offseason when defensive cornerstone Aaron Donald announced his retirement. Verse, out of Florida State, has a chance to quickly become a key cog.

Who won the NFL Rookie of the Year awards last season?

For the second year in a row, players from one team took home the honors. C.J. Stroud won on offense, and Will Anderson took the trophy on defense. The standout rookies were a huge part of the surprising turnaround for the Houston Texans, who won the AFC South and advanced to the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

The previous season, the New York Jets pulled off the double play, with Garrett Wilson and Ahmad Gardner taking home the trophies. Will we see a team sweep the awards again? Based on the early odds, the Minnesota Vikings are the top threat to make that happen. J.J. McCarthy is in the top five in offensive odds, and fellow first round pick Dallas Turner is the favorite on defense.
