Aldana comes in as a replacement for Julianna Pena. The latter was originally slated to complete the trilogy with Nunes on this card before pulling out due to injury.
Aldana has shown a lot of improvement in her overall game in recent fights. Still, she’s at her best when she’s able to fight at range and control the pace. Nunes, however, is known for being an aggressive power puncher. She can take over with her wrestling and ground strikes when needed.
Nunes has been a UFC champion continuously in at least one division since 2016. Her loss in the first fight with Pena showed she’s not entirely invulnerable. Aldana has to find a way to shut down Nunes’ forward pressure in order to control the distance and pace of this fight if she wants to pull off the upset.
